This is an ABC Chinese course for beginners.
Xiaoyu, vice professor of School of Chinese
as A Second Language, Peking University. Bachelor degree in teaching Chinese as
a second language at BLCU (Beijing Language University) and M.A. in modern
Chinese at PKU.
Since 1991, She has given long-term Chinese
courses, quick Chinese courses, training courses, culture lectures and TSL
courses in China, Oxford University(UK), Leiden University(Netherland),
BCIT(Canada), Free University Berlin(Germany), Chulalongkorn
University(Thailand) and America for more than 2,200 people including students,
post graduates, teachers and volunteers about 7,000 hours. She has published text
books such as Meeting China, Intermediate
Spoken Chinese, Chinese for GCSE, Kuaile Chinese, Chinese for
an ABC Chinese course for beginners, including introduction of phonetic and
daily expressions. Selected topics and situations come from real life scenarios
and can be used for everyday communication. In addition to the dialogues, the
selection of reading materials and practice activities will make the content as
rich and varied as possible, in order to stimulate the learners’ interest. And
what is better, learners don’t need to study Chinese characters.
This is an ABC Chinese course for beginners. Anyone who has certain English language ability is available for the course. Generally, learners will spent about 1.5 hours to watch lecture videoes and do exercises per week. This course has no certificate.

The class will consist of four lecture videos per week, and each video is about 3-5 minutes in length. There are different forms of practice including distinguishing exercises, reading words, tongue twisters, translating, conversations and so on. We have weekly quizzes and provide answers for self-assessment.
